The Apple of Discord

Voting has ended on Round One… the winners were as follows:   Female (56%), Chaotic Good (31%), Magical Creature (30%), and Displaced God / Demigod / Muse (42%).  Given those winners, I have created the three following possible characters:

The Goblinette Muse:

From the magical realm that Leaf hails from, Goblinette was… until recently… a muse representing the creative aspects of really really bad ideas that people persue with great enthusiasm.  Unfortunately, due to recent corporate downsizing, it was determined that humanity was entirely capable of coming up with horrible ideas on their own, and she was let go with a modest severance package.  Now, she is falling back on her former classmate Leaf, to help her get a new foothold on the world.  Of course, the fact that Leaf can’t stand her is completely beyond our Goblinette’s ability to grasp.  Always perky and positive, she attacks any situation that would normally stop anyone else… especially if it was common sense telling them to stop… with a passion for life that shows true to her goblin heritage.

The Dryad Guardian:

After witnessing the Apple of Discord’s return to the world… and it’s subsequent frequent abuse… this Dryad has decided to step down as one of Mother Nature’s protective spirits and interviene on the behalf of the Apple itself.  Sensitive and caring to a fault, she’s used to a life of sacrifice and duty, so the real world (especially the influence of  ’bad’ people like Horn and Hubris) may be more than she is prepared to handle.

The Fired Fairy:

Don’t let the fairy’s small size fool you – she used to be a mighty and powerful goddess of mischief, but since her religion (and followers) have been dead for a few thousand years, she’s been reduced to guarding… the internet.  And not even the glamorous parts of the internet, like Porn or 4Chan… no, she’s now the spirt of IRC Chat.  This won’t do.

But, after a little research, she’s starting to think that this whole Discord thing could work for her… and taking control of the Apple from those unappreciative fools could be just the thing to restore her former glory.  Of course, in order to do that, she’s going to have to get people to notice her… her small size does hamper her ability to attact attention to herself, and has also given her a bit of a complex.

So now that you’ve seen the candidates… it’s time for the final vote.  Below, you’ll find voting options for each of the characters and their respective color palates.  Once again, you can vote every two hours for as long as the contest runs – until this friday.  

Now, here’s the really important thing – stop by the forums and post your opinion – one person who replies will get to help name the character and will win the tower ad on the front page of AoD for their comic (or, you know, whatever – non-webcomic people can win too) for the entire month of March.
